Overview
Forty signs relate to plants , which can be found throughout the year. In particular, they refer to trees, shrubs, half-shrubs and, more rarely, perennial plants, mosses and lichens.Among the plants are 9 endemic plants, i.e. those found only in Cyprus and in no other part of the world. There are also four plaques at sites of geological interest and they relate to (a) the Kalavasos geological formation where gypsum is present, (b) the Lefkara geological formation, (c) the river terraces, and (d) the Pachna geological formation. There are also four signs concerning habitats and vegetation along the ravine, 4 concerning crops, 3 concerning birdwatching and viewpoints, and one for a small gorge. In addition to birds, however, you will encounter other notable fauna, including mammals, reptiles and butterflies. Appeal to hikers The Amargeti Community Council expects every visitor and hiker to put the trail under their protection and tell themselves: Do not light a fire in any part of the trail. I do not smoke during the entire hike. I do not uproot or destroy plants. I do not intimidate, stalk or cause the death of animals. I do not throw away waste materials. I respect structures and facilities for which a large amount of money was allocated. I respect private property. In my wake, I will leave only my footsteps.
